Hi, I’m Maurice Di Rosso, the founder of 5+ Foods. With a background in food technology, nutrition, and commercial cookery, I’ve always been passionate about food that’s both healthy and delicious. Over the past 11 years, I’ve worked across the corporate and social sectors, which deepened my commitment to addressing food industry challenges and supporting ethical, sustainable practices.
The idea for 5+ Foods began as a desire to improve access to minimally processed, nutritious options while staying true to my values. Inspired by my experiences running a food poverty charity in the UK and studying the complexities of food systems, I wanted to offer an alternative to mainstream processed foods – one that’s clean, delicious, and ethically produced.
I live in Newport, Melbourne, with my wife Jess and our two young kids. My passion for supporting local businesses and working with the community, plays a significant role in shaping 5+ Foods’ direction.
At 5+ Foods, we believe in balancing values with accessibility. Every product we create is thoughtfully developed to meet high standards of nutrition, taste, and affordability. Though we’re just starting out, our vision is bold: to transform how people approach convenient, healthy eating while making a positive impact in our community and beyond.

Veg Blocks is just the beginning! Our mission is to create foods that prioritize vegetables as a critical ingredient – offering a healthier alternative to products often loaded with refined sugars, preservatives, and other unhealthy bulking agents. As we manage a cold supply chain, expanding our freezer range is a natural next step. That said, we’re also considering pantry items, always staying true to our core principles: nutritious, convenient and delicious foods. While vegetables remain our focus, any future products will align with our commitment to promoting healthy eating and increasing the variety of foods we eat, helping us eat the rainbow.

Where to buy our products
At the moment, we’re focused on serving Melbourne through direct deliveries. Before expanding beyond Melbourne, our goal is to partner with local independent shops and establish convenient pick-up locations to reduce reliance on home delivery. Once these steps are in place, we’ll look into serving areas outside of Melbourne.
